Quick & Easy 6 x 6 workshop project page for Spring!

March 17, 2010

Here's a quick workshop project for old and new scrappers alike…remember, even if your customers don't scrap, they can still purchase a 6 x 6 frame to pop in this adorable page.  With 1/4 inch grosgrain for the stems and "With All My Heart" flowers, and a "Flight of the Butterfly" friend, this page will take your customers about 5-10 minutes tops!  But look at all the great products they'll get to use!

Another Easter Treat

March 17, 2010

Here's another little Easter Treat idea, using the Petal card die and the Polka Dot Embossing folder for the Big Shot.  The Eggcoutrement set (Occasions mini page 22, item # 115165 wood mount $22.95 or item # 118556 clear mount  $16.95) is perfect for this little candy pocket, that fits one Ghiardelli chocolate.  I love how the belly band exactly matches the Scallop Border punch for a perfect scallop edge.  I did this project at my last workshop and it was a HUGE hit!

Easter Cards

It is so good to design cards using soft light colors!  Can you tell I want Spring NOW?!  This stamp set, Abundant Hope (#118547 clear mount  $13.95) is so lovely and can be used for any spring card, be it birthday, thank you or thinking of you.  With as many different varieties of daffodils out there, think of all the different ways to color in the image!  I used markers for the flowers and a blender pen with the Bordering Blue marker to make the faint shadowing.  The DSP paper is from the new Sweet Pea Stack (#117161  $24.95) and of course, no card would be complete without the Sale-A-Bration Scallop Trim Border Punch (#118402) you can earn FREE with a $50 minimum order.

This card was TOTALLY cased straight out of the Occasions Mini Catalog, with a few alterations!  I crimped the bottom of the card front for some texture and cut the little leaves from the (celery) scallop border stamped image.

And that cute little pink flower?  There's that great Trio Flower Punch again (#109183  $15.95)!  It punches out 3 flowers at a time.

So…who's hiding the eggs?

Hearts of Love Valentine projects

February 7, 2010

Here are some lovely Valentine gifts and projects for that special someone!

This CD frame came from an idea by Wendy Randall.  Notice the legs are black clips from the office supply store, covered with DSP!

While at Leadership Conference (or was it at the Regional Seminar afterwards?), we were shown how to make a dial-up card.  I made one using the Sweetheart set and matching Heart Treat Cups.  What's cool about the dial is that you don't have to rip up the card to get to the candy!  There's a punched heart opening in the dial that releases the M & M's!  Click here for directions.

This lovely valentine is a Heart Explosion card.  I originally saw a blog from Patty Bennett on how to make this pop-up variation, and it just lends itself so well to popping hearts!  Check it out when it opens…

The hearts, which look suspended in air, are actually attached with strips of clear medium window sheet!

This cute little Heart box uses our Favor Box die for the Big Shot.  As you can see, the black GROOM Specialty paper looks so classy with the red and white.

Finally, props go out to Amanda Coughlin, who designed this adorable birdhouse using the new Milk carton box die for the Big Shot.  I added the little bird perching on the roof, using the new Extra Large 2-step Bird Punch.

Here's the back side of the birdhouse.

This box holds like 13 Kisses!

I punched out 2 birds in white and burnished the color, then attached one side to the library clip with Sticky Strip and then aligned and attached the second bird with Sticky Strip.

   Valentine's

        Day!

Breast Cancer Awareness Month

October 1, 2009

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, so I will be designing cards using the Ribbon of Hope single stamp found on page 208 in the Idea Book & Catalog (115552  $7.95).  Here is one of the cards we’ll be making in my October Forget-Me-Not Class on Oct 10th & 11th.  The lovely swirl background is actually a piece of our Bride Specialty Paper (115669  $13.95) that I’ve burnished with ink and a sponge.  What’s cool is the swirl in the paper is foiled, so it resists the Melon Mambo ink!  Imagine all the different colors you could burnish this paper with!  You  get 5 sheets of swirl paper and 5 sheets of striped foil paper.  The foil gives the paper shine, pattern and texture.  Check out the other colors as well… black (Groom) and vanilla (Bridesmaid).   If you’d like to order the Ribbon of Hope stamp or the Bride specialty paper, click on the online ordering icon below.

Autumn Splendor Scrap Spread

September 30, 2009

I have to say, the new AUTUMN SPLENDOR stamp set in the Holiday Mini Catalog (116503  $20.95) is especially beautiful and unlike any leaf set we’ve ever produced.  The detail is rich and the leaves are "lively"…by that I mean that when they are stamped, the curve of the images look like the leaves are moving…they’re really cool.

So along with this set, I used the coordinating Designer Series Paper, AUTUMN MEADOWS, (Holiday Mini, 116769  $9.95) to make a 12 x 12 two-page spread, perfect for Fall Color pix or that perfect family get-together at Thanksgiving.  Check it out!

If you’re interested in the set and the paper, you can order it online with me.  Just click on the ordering icon below!

Happy Halloween Card

September 27, 2009

Well I have to admit…I love this little Halloween set called Twick or Tweet (pg 10 of the new Holiday Mini Catalog $18.95  #116497).  These stacked pumpkins really do "make me smile!"  When making this card, I knew I wanted to use the fabulous black & white Night & Day Designer Series Paper ($11.95  #116768 pg. 11 Holiday mini), but what a surprise when I opened the pack to reveal 2 extra dotted window sheets in addition to the 12 sheets of patterned paper.  So I just HAD to make a cute little Halloween window card. Add a Pumpkin Pie Corduroy Brad and the new Pumpkin Pie   1-1/4" Striped Grosgrain ribbon and the card is rockin’. Check it out!  Plus here’s what it looks like on the inside.  If you like this set, plus the Night & Day DSP you can order it online by clicking on the Online Order icon below.  Or just call me and I’d be happy to order it for you.
